If your computer has any bottlenecks or lags in any department then SD3 will cause clicks and pops in your tunes, and you will end up rendering every drum track to wav so you can shut off the vst. If you go with SD3 then I believe one of the most important things you need to watch out for is whether your computer specs are up to the task.
Besides, I have SD3 but imo the best kit I have is the EZD kit "Custom Shop." I use it now for almost everything. I came from a drum machine so for me EZD2 was already light years beyond where I came from.
If you are just doing demos at home I don't think you need SD3. Therefore, proceed at your own risk.Ĭlick to expand. Then you will drag and drop patterns the same either way, you won't notice much if any difference, other than better stock sound. #SUPERIOR DRUMMER 3 VS EZDRUMMER 2 UPGRADE#
Im thinking wait and see if there is a Black Friday cheap deal on EZ2 and then upgrade or see if they do a deal bundling one of the SDXs I really want with SD3. Of the SDXs there seems to be several compelling choices like Legacy of Rock, Decades and rooms of Hansa but I think Death and darkness would probably be my first choice. To be honest the pop punk EZX looks like it would be right up my street as I used to enjoy playing along to that sort of music when I played acoustic drums in the past and I’m a big fan of Green Day and Goldfinger. I’m interested in playing Rock, some metal and punk at first. It looks like in previous years toontrack has done Black Friday deals on EZD2 and some SDXs and EDXs but nothing much off SD3 on its own. Looking for the cheapest way to eventually get Superior Drummer 3, getting EZ drummer 2 first and upgrading would spread the expense over time but I don’t want to spend much more going that route than buying SD3 standalone.
